StoryStream generates text with Apple Intelligence, which needs iOS 26 and an iPhone 15 Pro or newer. The app tells you which of three things is wrong: the device is not eligible, Apple Intelligence is switched off (Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri), or the model is still downloading, which can take a while on a slow connection. Anything already written stays readable.
Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore purchase. The unlock is tied to your Apple Account, so it needs to be the same account that bought it. You do not need to pay again.

The model that writes the stories is small enough to run on a phone, and that is the trade for everything working offline. The app has guards against the worst of it, but it is not perfect. If a story goes badly wrong, the fastest fix is to start another one in the same world — the cast and setting carry over.
Apple's on-device model declines some material. When that happens the app plans a different story rather than leaving you with a book that can never be written. If a particular genre or theme keeps failing, tell us which and we will look at it.
On your iPhone only. Nothing is uploaded. See Privacy. Deleting the app deletes your stories, and there is no way for us to recover them.
